Thorne MediClear Detox Formula is an easy-to-implement, affordable 3-week detoxification program emphasizing dietary changes coupled with MediClear supplementation. It provides liver, GI, and whole-body detoxification.

When compared to similar detox formulas, MediClear contains more protein, fewer carbohydrates, more detox cofactors, and special nutrients along with a probiotic for gut health. It is also more affordable.

The MediClear Program: The MediClear program in 3 easy weeks emphasizes healthful, hypo-allergenic dietary changes coupled with supplementation including MediClear. This approach delivers a nutrient-dense diet with extra co-factors that are necessary for optimal liver detoxification. The MediClear program is designed to be implemented incrementally, to gradually move into and out of the program.

Week 1: ease into the protocol while consuming a diet that is less antigenic and less dependent on animal-based protein.

Week 2: increase the MediClear dose. All animal-based protein is excluded to allow more cleansing to take place.

Week 3: diet is the same as Week 1, re-introduce animal proteins (if desired) and reduce the reliance on MediClear.

Unlike other programs, this protocol is not meant to be rigid; instead, it has been designed to be flexible. According to your needs this program can be shortened or extended as needed with changes to the MediClear dosage. Other supplementation can be added to the protocol.

Extra Nutrients and Botanicals:

• Catechins (from green tea extract) are included to promote proper hepatic Phase I detoxification and as a potent antioxidant.
• Glutathione and N-acetylcysteine are added for their antioxidant activity and to support hepatic Phase II detoxification.
• The amino acids glycine and taurine, and the amino acid derivative trimethylglycine, are also included for their supportive role in Phase II detoxification, along with the sulfur-containing compound MSM. L-glutamine supports proper intestinal health.
• Quercetin chalcone is included for its antioxidant activity and mast cell-stabilizing action.
• A stable probiotic, Lactobacillus sporogenes, helps balance the normal intestinal flora.

Why Rice Protein?

Rice protein is used in MediClear Plus because of its low incidence of allergenicity. Rarely is an individual allergic to rice protein; it is far more likely for dairy or soy protein to initiate an allergic reaction. Using rice protein allows you to eliminate allergenic proteins from your diet, yet maintain high-quality protein intake.

Detoxification cofactors are provided in the most absorbable, best utilized forms, such as calcium and magnesium citrate-malate, pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (active vitamin B6), folinic acid and L-5-MTHF (active forms of folate), methyl- and adenosylcobalamin (active forms of B12), and UltraChrome (Thorne's patented chromium).
