Vitamin D is well known in terms of its relationship to bone strength and calcium absorbtion. There is also evidence of Vitamin D's effectiveness in seasonal depression.

What isn't commonly known is the immense amount of scientific literature showing Vitamin D to be an anti-inflammatory compound. Vitamin D is not even really a vitamin, it is a hormonal molecule -- and acts as a hormone in your body.
