Black Cohosh (Cimicifuga Racemosa) is a perennial plant used traditionally for "female problems" related to menstruation. Although its mechanisms of action have not been totally identified, much of its therapeutic effect is known to be due to its content of triterpene glycosides and isoflavones (known as phytoestrogens).
Black Cohosh, and its resident isoflavones, have been shown to moderately improve vasomotor symptoms ("hot flashes") in menopausal women. Clinical trials performed with isoflavones have also shown a reduction in the loss of bone mineral density in postmenopausal women and a slight decrease in LDL cholesterol. Phytotherapy with Vitanica Black Cohosh and isoflavones constitute a therapeutic option that can offer assistance to menopausal women who want to improve their quality of life through relief of vasomotor symptoms.
For the best of both worlds, we combine the studied standardized extract and traditionally used dried root powder.
Black cohosh is a popular Native American and traditionally used women's herb.
